The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Odisha has officially released the Class 12 board examination date sheet for the 2026 session. This includes detailed schedules for theory and practical exams across Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams, marking an important announcement for more than 4 lakh students preparing for their higher secondary exams. The theory exams will take place from February 18, 2026, to March 21, 2026, while practical exams are slated earlier between December 22, 2025, and January 15, 2026.


Exam Schedule and Details

 

  1. The Class 12 board exams will be conducted in the morning session starting at 10:00 AM with a 15-minute reading time before the exam begins. 
  2. Each theory exam is scheduled for 3 hours, except for the vocational subjects, which may have a 2-hour duration. 
  3. The CHSE has set stringent examination protocols including mandatory reporting at exam centres 30 minutes before the start and carrying admit cards without which entry into exam halls is prohibited.


Practical Exams in Two Phases

 

  • Practical and internal assessments will be held in two slots to ensure smooth conduct and accommodate absentees.
  •  The first slot for practicals is between December 22 and December 31, 2025. 
  • This includes 30-45 minutes for internal assessments and a 2-hour slot for practical exams.
  • The second slot runs from January 10 to January 15, 2026, exclusively for students who missed their practicals in the first slot with the principal’s permission. 
  • Exams in both slots will continue even on public holidays to complete the schedule on time.
