JKBOSE Declares Class 10 Results 2026, Overall Pass Percentage at 84%

Srinagar, Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) officially announced the results for the Class 10th Annual Regular Examination 2026 today, January 14, 2026. Bringing an end to the anticipation of thousands of students across the Union Territory, the board reported an impressive overall pass percentage of 84.6%.

Following the trend of recent years, girl students have once again outperformed boys, securing a higher qualifying percentage and bagging several top positions across the UT.

Key Performance Statistics

According to the official data released by JKBOSE Chairperson, the 2026 session saw a significant number of students appearing from both Jammu and Kashmir divisions under the "Uniform Academic Calendar."

  • Overall Pass Percentage: 84.6%

  • Girls' Pass Percentage: 87.2%

  • Boys' Pass Percentage: 82.1%

  • Total Students Appeared: Approximately 1.2 Lakh students.

The results reflect a steady improvement in the academic standards of the region, despite the challenges of the winter schedule.

Division-Wise Highlights

While both divisions performed exceptionally well, the urban centers of Srinagar and Jammu recorded the highest concentration of "A1" grades.

Government schools have also shown a remarkable recovery, with several state-run institutions reporting a 100% pass rate, narrowing the gap with private educational institutions.

Toppers and Academic Excellence

  • JKBOSE has continued its policy of not releasing a traditional merit list in order to reduce academic pressure among students.

  • Despite this, performance data shows that more than 12,000 students scored above 90 per cent, marking a record achievement this year.

  • Mathematics and Science emerged as the top-performing subjects, with a significantly higher number of distinctions.

  • Officials said the distinction rate in these subjects has improved compared to previous academic sessions.

Re-evaluation and Grace Marks

  • JKBOSE will open the re-evaluation and answer script photocopy (xerox) portal from next week for students dissatisfied with their marks.

  • Candidates will be able to apply online by paying the prescribed fee, as per the board’s notification.

  • The board has also implemented its standard “Grace Marks” policy for eligible students.

  • Under this policy, students who have fallen short by a few marks in a single subject may be awarded grace marks.

  • The move aims to ensure that deserving students can continue their higher secondary education without losing an academic year.

What’s Next for Students?

With the Class 10 results now public, the focus shifts to admissions for Class 11. The Directorate of School Education (DSEK/DSEJ) is expected to issue a notification regarding the commencement of the new session and stream selection (Medical, Non-Med, Commerce, and Arts) within the next few days.

Administrative Note: The Lieutenant Governor’s administration and the Advisor to the LG have congratulated the successful candidates, urging those who couldn't clear the exams to remain resilient and prepare for the upcoming bi-annual/supplementary examinations.
