The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the CBSE Date Sheet 2026 for both Class 10 and Class 12. The exams will begin from 17th February 2026 and continue till 9th April 2026 for Class 12, while Class 10 exams will conclude on 10th March 2026. All exams will start at 10:30 AM and continue till 1:30 PM.

CBSE’s Statement on the 2026 Exam Schedule

CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj explained that the board has ensured a balanced gap between major subjects, considering the dates of national entrance exams like JEE (Main) to prevent scheduling conflicts.

He also mentioned that the syllabus and marking scheme will remain consistent for both phases of Class 10 exams, ensuring fairness and uniformity.

Students’ and Parents’ Reactions

Some Class 10 students, especially those with Tamil as their second language, have raised concerns about having only one-day gap between Tamil and Science exams (23rd & 25th February). Parents argue that Science, being concept-heavy, demands more preparation time.

However, CBSE clarified that scheduling depends on subject combinations and student enrollment patterns, ensuring minimal overlaps across 40,000+ subject combinations.
