CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation Portal 2026

CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation Portal 2026

Big news for lakhs of Class 12 students across India. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially activated the online portal for re-evaluation and verification of Class 12 answer scripts for the 2026 board examinations. If you feel your marks do not truly reflect your effort — or if you suspect an error in evaluation — this is your chance to get your answer sheet reviewed.

Most importantly: the deadline is June 6, 2026 at midnight. Do not wait. Apply today at postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/ and give yourself the best chance of a fair, accurate result.

What Is the CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation Portal 2026?

The CBSE Post-Result Activities Portal is the official online platform where Class 12 students can apply for three post-result services after their board exam results are declared:

•        Photocopy (Scanned Copy) of Evaluated Answer Book — You receive a digital scan of your own answer sheet so you can see exactly how marks were awarded.

•        Verification of Marks — A clerical check for totalling errors, unchecked sections, or unmarked questions.

•        Re-evaluation of Specific Questions — A subject-matter expert re-examines particular answers you flag as incorrectly marked.

CBSE activated this portal on June 2, 2026.

However, if marks decrease — even by one mark — that change will also be implemented.

•        Apply only through the official portal: postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/ — beware of fake or unofficial links.

•        Complete Aadhaar verification if required (CBSE added this step in 2026 for enhanced security — students without Aadhaar have been given alternative arrangements).

•        Keep your admit card, roll number, and school number ready before you begin.

•        Do not wait for the last date — the portal experiences heavy traffic on June 6. Apply early.

•        Save your payment confirmation receipt — it is proof of your application.

•        The board's decision after verification or re-evaluation is considered final.

FAQs

What is the last date to apply for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation 2026?

The last date to apply for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation and verification 2026 is June 6, 2026 at midnight. The portal (postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/) will close after this deadline. CBSE has confirmed it will not entertain any late requests under any circumstances. Apply as early as possible.

What is the fee for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation in 2026?

CBSE has slashed fees by up to 85% in 2026. The photocopy of the answer book now costs ₹100 per subject (down from ₹700), verification of marks costs ₹100 per sub. What is the fee for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation in 2026?ject (down from ₹500), and re-evaluation costs just ₹25 per question (down from ₹100). The re-evaluation fee is fully refunded if your marks increase after re-evaluation.

Can marks decrease after CBSE re-evaluation?

Yes. This is very important to understand. After re-evaluation, marks can increase OR decrease. Even a decrease of one mark will be officially implemented on your marksheet. This is why it is strongly advised to first obtain the scanned copy of your answer book, carefully compare it with the official marking scheme, and only apply for re-evaluation of questions where you are genuinely confident of an error.

Is Aadhaar mandatory for CBSE re-evaluation application 2026?

CBSE has added Aadhaar verification in 2026 to make the application process more secure. However, CBSE has also made arrangements for students who do not have Aadhaar, so it is not a strict barrier. Students without Aadhaar should contact CBSE's helpline (1800 11 8004) for guidance on alternative verification.

What is the official CBSE re-evaluation portal link?

The official portal for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation and verification 2026 is postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/. Students should apply only through this official link. Beware of fake or unofficial websites claiming to offer re-evaluation services. CBSE has specifically warned students to avoid unauthorized links.

Why was the CBSE re-evaluation portal delayed in 2026?

The portal was delayed because of technical glitches and cybersecurity concerns related to the new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system introduced in 2026. CBSE confirmed that 68,018 answer books had to be rescanned due to image quality issues and 13,583 books were pulled for manual rechecking. IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur experts were deployed to fix the system before the portal went live.

Can I apply for re-evaluation without getting the photocopy first?

No. Obtaining the scanned copy of your evaluated answer book is the mandatory first step. Without reviewing your answer sheet, you cannot even identify which questions to contest. The scanned copy application window (May 19–25, 2026) is now closed, so only students who already applied for the photocopy are eligible to now apply for verification and re-evaluation.

Will CBSE re-evaluation results affect college admissions?

Possibly, yes. If your re-evaluation results in a marks increase, CBSE will issue a revised marksheet. If you are applying to colleges where even one or two marks can make a difference — for example, DU, BHU, or any college using board marks as the admission criterion — it is worth applying for re-evaluation if you genuinely believe there is an error. However, many colleges have their own admission deadlines, so factor in the expected result timeline (late July 2026) before deciding.
