What is the CBSE Class 10 Best-of-Two Policy 2026?
This is one of the most important things to understand about the CBSE dual-exam system 2026. Under the best-of-two policy, CBSE compares your marks from both Phase 1 and Phase 2 for each subject individually and considers the higher score for your final result.
So if you scored 55 in Mathematics in Phase 1 and 70 in Phase 2 ā your final marksheet will show 70. Similarly, if you scored better in Phase 1 than Phase 2 in some subjects, CBSE will still count the higher one. This makes the second board exam a win-win situation for students.
Important note: Students could appear in the second board exam in up to 3 subjects for improvement. The best-of-two policy applies subject-wise across both attempts.
