This change affects only the papers of 3 March.
All other exam dates in the CBSE timetable remain the same.

This update is important for lakhs of students who are preparing for their CBSE Board Exam 2026.

Which subjects are affected on 3 March 2026?

Class 10 – Subjects shifted from 3 March to 11 March 2026

The rest of the Class 12 board exam subjects will be held as per the original schedule (from February 17, 2026 onwards) unless CBSE issues any new notice.

Why did CBSE change the 3 March 2026 exam date?

In its communication and media reports, CBSE has cited administrative / logistical reasons for postponing the exams scheduled on 3 March 2026.

The notice clearly states:

  • The change is only for the exams scheduled on 3 March 2026.

  • There is no change in the rest of the timetable.

This means students do not need to worry about other subjects; they only have to update their preparation plan for the affected 3 March papers.

What should students do now?

Here is a simple action plan for students of Class 10 and 12:

  1. Download the latest CBSE date sheet

    • Visit the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in) and download the revised timetable PDF for Class 10 or Class 12.

  2. Update your study timetable

    • Shift your revision schedule according to the new dates:

      • Class 10 language/NCC subjects → prepare for 11 March instead of 3 March.

      • Class 12 Legal Studies → plan for 10 April instead of 3 March.

  3. Use the extra time wisely

    • Revise previous year question papers.

    • Practice sample papers and CBSE sample questions.

    • Clear any remaining doubts with teachers.

  4. Follow only official updates

    • Do not trust random social media posts or rumours.

    • Cross-check any information with:

      • CBSE official website

      • Your school’s notice board / official WhatsApp / ERP

  5. Stay calm and positive

    • This change actually gives you more days for revision for the affected subjects.

    • Use it as an advantage to improve your scores.

Important reminder for parents and schools

  • Schools should inform students and parents immediately through circulars, WhatsApp groups, and school websites.

  • Admit cards and internal timetables should be updated to reflect the new exam dates.
