The inclusion of a dedicated paper for third language/optional language allows students to appear in additional languages offered by RBSE such as Sanskrit, Urdu, Gujarati, Sindhi, Punjabi, Rajasthani or Sanskrit Education Department subjects. The structured gaps between major subjects like Science, Social Science and Mathematics are intended to help students revise thoroughly and avoid overcrowding of papers.

Exam pattern, syllabus and assessment

  • Both Class 5 and Class 8 exams will be based on the prescribed RBSE syllabus for the 2025–26 academic session, covering the entire course taught in the current year.youtube

  • Question papers will focus on reading comprehension, numerical ability, conceptual clarity and application-based learning, and will test both knowledge and understanding.youtube

  • Schools have been instructed to complete internal assessments, project work and any practical components (where applicable) before the written exam window begins.youtube

For students, this means they should revise from NCERT/board-recommended textbooks, class notes and model papers, and pay special attention to understanding concepts instead of rote learning. Teachers are expected to align classroom tests and pre-board exams with the official pattern so that students get familiar with the type and level of questions.youtube

  • Admit cards and a valid ID must be carried to the exam hall.

  • Exams will be conducted offline (pen and paper).

  • Electronic devices such as mobile phones are not permitted inside examination halls.

Preparation & Planning Tips

With the timetable out, educators and experts recommend that students:

  2. Use the gaps between exams to strengthen preparation for the next subject.

  3. Practice previous years’ papers and sample questions for confidence.

  4. Keep important documents and stationery ready well in advance.

Looking Ahead

This time table release also sets the stage for other RBSE board exams in 2026. Apart from Class 5 and 8, the board has already released the schedule for Classes 10 and 12, with exams beginning in mid-February, part of a broader shift to earlier examination dates for the academic year.
